If you like shopping local, love Cincinnati, and consider yourself a foodie, then it’s probably safe to assume that Findlay Market is your paradise. If you aren’t familiar with Findlay Market, it’s this city’s only surviving municipal market house from the late 19th/early 20th century. Dating back to 1855, the building has had it’s additions and renovations, but the original structure remains. It is one of the first markets in the US to use iron frame construction technology (and is one of very few left standing).
Fast forward to today, the market operates 7 days a week and is chock full of local merchants. You can get everything from fresh produce, to locally sourced meats, to hand crafted products, and now, locally brewed beer. From May through October, the Findlay Market Biergarten, sponsored by Christian Moerlein, will be open to the public Tuesday through Thursday from 4pm-8pm, Fridays and Saturdays from 11am-8pm, and Sundays from 11am-4pm. Happy Hour will run Tuesday through Friday from 4-6pm, and will consist of $1 off draft beers and food vendor specials such as Nacho Party Trays from Mama Lo Hizo and Harvest Pizzeria, who will be delivering directly to the Biergarten.
Weekly programming in the Biergarten starts NEXT WEEK! Here’s the rundown, sponsored by Queen City Hemp:
Thursday: Community Night at the Market - Find performances, classes and events from a rotating lineup of local community groups and Market merchants including People’s Liberty, The Budding Florist and the Cincinnati Art Museum.
